Brintons began manufacturing carpet in Kidderminster in 1783 and there have been many notable milestones; from pioneering the 80% wool/20% nylon blend to celebrating the Queen's diamond jubilee, here are just a few of them...

Brintons history


  • Brintons win Best Customer Service Award for Flooring 2013 as voted for by Interiors Monthly readers.

  • Brintons were invited to mark the Coronation Festival in July by designing and curating a 1950s style room, set in the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

  • Brintons collaborated with LINLEY to transform Burlington Arcade’s iconic carpet runway.

  • Brintons latest collaboration with The Campaign for Wool was showcased at Wool House between the 13th to 24th March 2013. Brintons worked with designer Cristian Zuzunaga to produce a 100ft runner for the event held in the West Wing of Somerset House, London.


  • The Spice Girls have reunited on the staircase at London's St Pancras Renaissance Hotel which featured in the video for the band’s debut single 'Wannabe'. Following a lavish refurbishment, the grand staircase graces a stunning carpet from Brintons.

  • Brintons Carpets exhibited at Birmingham's first design EXPO in well over 100 years. The EXPO, was held at the Mailbox, the premier shopping centre in Birmingham, June 15th-22nd.


  • Brintons is acquired by The Carlyle Group, a global alternative asset manager.

  • Brintons supplies carpet to the newly-opened St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London, the location used in their 1999 brand campaign.

  • Brintons launches its first High Definition Weave Collection, to be woven on its latest patented looms.


  • Brintons wins silver award for Laura Ashley at the UK House Beautiful awards.


  • Brintons launch their Residential "Seasons by Brintons" advertising campaign.


  • Brintons launched its "most luxurious carpets in the world campaign", this time working with renowned shoe designer Manolo Blahnik. The campaign was shortlisted for awards by House Beautiful magazine and the Periodical Publishers Association in 2005.

  • Brintons acquisition of Woodward Grosvenor.


  • Brintons is awarded the "Manufacturing Excellence Award" (MX2001), beating competition from British Aerospace and Jaguar. The success is recognition of the tremendous progress made by the company in the areas of customer focus, product and process innovation, as well as the efficient use of resources.


  • The "Some things in life wear better than others" campaign is launched, shot on location at the derelict St Pancras Chambers Hotel, with dresses by Anthony Price.


  • Brintons launch their first advertising campaign for which Vivienne Westwood designed a series of iconic carpet dresses.


  • The Royal Warrant is granted to Brintons in recognition of supplying carpets to Royal residences.


  • Brintons celebrates 150 years of their British made carpet (carpet supplied for Queen Mary).


  • Brintons head office is built and opened in Exchange Street, Kidderminster.


  • Brintons began manufacturing carpet in Kidderminster. Their carpet is still made in Britain to this day.
