Located in Melbourne’s CBD, the Sheraton Melbourne Hotel is renowned for being one of the most stylish, luxury five star hotels in the city. Working in partnership with The Buchan Group and installation partners Omnifloor, Brintons designed and supplied a forward thinking woven flooring solution for the hotels guestrooms, suites, corridors, pre-function areas and ballroom.

Julie Bjork, Brintons APAC Design Manager, lead designer on the project, was excited to work with The Buchan Group on the project: “It was one of the most interesting hospitality projects I have been involved with. We were able to push the boundaries of traditional guestroom design – developing larger scale, beautiful patterns – previously reserved for the public areas of a hotel. It marked a turning point in guestroom carpet design.”

The Buchan Group provided conceptual graphic images, which Brintons designers translated into Axminster carpet designs to work with The Buchan Group’s colour scheme.

The carpet patterning throughout the hotel is chic and features a layering of grand, stylized floral motifs. The organic colour palette is elegant, neutral grey tones running throughout, with pops of colour to add interest and character.

Brintons provided full project management support to facilitate the complex delivery of the project, in conjunction with a comprehensive sampling programme to support the creative design process, which included design print outs, floor plans and woven trials.
